1.  PRAYER, PRAYER, PRAYER - we need a fresh revelation of the power and importance of prayer:-
Unless you determine to become a praying church, forget it.  (See Hole 7a in the Layman's Curriculum).  There are no shortcuts.  A praying church can only be birthed by a praying Pastor.  We were a very strong praying church, but upon arrival in Seoul, Korea, we felt like backsliders in our prayer lives.  I have never seen such fervent prayer dedication in all my life.  (I have this on video to show to your church - it's worth more than a 1,000 sermons - it has dynamically challenged and changed every congregation that has seen it).  Pastor, determine from this day forward to lead your church by example in unceasing prayer.  The majority of members will never rise above the example of their Pastor.  The more you pray the more you'll love to pray; the less you pray the harder it is to pray.  Once you get over the crest of the 'mountain of prayerlessness' - a 'life of prayer' becomes the joy of your life going down the other side - prayer becomes plain sailing once the wind of the Spirit begins blowing a fresh anointing into your sails.
Acts 1:14 (NAS) These all with one mind were continually DEVOTING themselves to PRAYER, along with {the} women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
Acts 2:42 (NAS) And they were continually DEVOTING themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to PRAYER.
Acts 6:4 (NAS) "But we will DEVOTE ourselves to PRAYER, and to the ministry of the word."
Rom 12:12 (NAS) ...rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, DEVOTED to PRAYER...
1 Cor 7:5 (NAS) Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time that you may DEVOTE yourselves to PRAYER, and come together again lest Satan tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
Col 4:2 (NAS) DEVOTE yourselves to PRAYER, keeping alert in it with {an attitude of} thanksgiving...
Eph 6:18 (NAS) With all PRAYER and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with ALL PERSEVERANCE and petition for all the saints...
The modern day Christian needs to learn what it means to be DEVOTED TO PRAYER and to PRAY WITH PERSEVEREANCE and ENDURANCE (i.e. extended prayer with no distractions or interruptions).

Besides a private hour with God, Christians today also need to learn to cultivate and maintain a lifestyle of constant prayer and fellowship with the Holy Spirit.
1Thes 5:17 (NAS) ...pray without ceasing...
1Thes 5:17 (NIV) ...pray continually...
1Thes 5:17 (RSV) ...pray constantly...
1Thes 5:17 (TLB) Always keep on praying.

2.  A DYNAMIC EFFECTIVE EVANGELISM/DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM:-
The Layman's School has the most powerful, proven, dynamic, effective and practical evangelism program that'll work in any church.  'Fishers of Men' is a sure winner!  It is by far the most important course on the Layman's School of Training because it'll change your members and church forever - producing great spiritual and numerical growth.
However, birthing a baby is just the beginning.  Without an effective 'Discipleship' program we're being irresponsible by birthing - then abandoning our spiritual babies.
We started with the 'Prayer Friend' discipleship program, which later was incorporated into the 'Add100' home cell program - the most exciting Church Growth concept I've seen in my many, many years of diligently seeking to discover the best way to bring new converts to a place of maturity and spiritual reproduction.
'Effective Discipling' must become the
hub of ALL church activity.  The motivation of everything else we do must be a spoke in the wheel which feeds life and new members into our discipleship program - or else it's wasted energy that could have been more productively used.  Building strong transparent relationships, from the Senior Pastor down is the Major Goal here.  Strong relationships is the cement that holds a church together.
Acts 2:46 (NAS) And day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,
Acts 8:3 (NAS) But Saul {began} ravaging the church, entering house after house; and dragging off men and women, he would put them in prison.
Acts 20:20 (NAS) ...how I did not shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you (i) publicly AND (ii) from house to house...
This is the 20/20 vision verse of the Bible - does your church have 20/20 vision?

Many Pastors add a 'Discipleship Program' on as just another church activity.  This will fail.  Effective Discipling has to become a top 'Key Result Area' to which you devote a good percentage of your time and energy in order to succeed.  None of your members will invest much of their time and energy into something that you do not demonstrate as being extremely important to you.

3.  USING ONLY WELL TRAINED LOYAL LEADERS FOR EVERY OFFICE OF MINISTRY:-
Only Word wise, loyal, skillfully trained and anointed workers must be used to fill every office of ministry in the church.  Loyal members are produced by maintaining strong healthy relationships with all key leaders through learned and developed Biblical People Skills.
Eccl 10:10 (NIV) If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed but skill will bring success.
Unfaithful and unskilled workers end up taking and chasing members assigned to them, instead of building the church.  Untrained workers will cost you dearly in the long run.  You can take that to the bank.  Rather no leaders than untrained leaders.  Sadly people who're willing to take on church work without training are those "A" type personality folks who often end up hurting the church.  The more faithful workers who will be a long term blessing to your church (and who are not so self assured) are not willing to take on spiritual responsibility until they're trained to do it.
Luke 6:40 (NAS) "A pupil is not above his teacher; but everyone, after he has been fully TRAINED, will be like his teacher (and unless they are trained they will never be like their teacher).
Notice they need to be
fully trained, not fully taught.  There is a big difference.
Trained - Greek: 2675 katartizo (kat-ar-tid'-zo); to equip, to put in order, to prepare, to strengthen, to perfect, to complete, to make one what he ought to be.
Training certainly includes teaching, but goes way beyond into the area of
on-the-job training.
You can pass all the academic tests in the world, but until you can pick up the tools and do the job yourself, you're not trained.
Eph 4:11-16 (NAS) And He gave some {as} apostles, and some {as} prophets, and some {as} evangelists, and some {as} pastors and teachers,
12 (NKJ) for the
EQUIPPING of the saints for the work of ministry, (NAS) to the building up of the body of Christ;
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fulness of Christ.

Equipping - Classical Greek: every bone finding it's right place (Ezek 37:1-9).
Equipping - Conversational Greek: the raising up of an army (Ezek 37:10-11).
Equipping - Greek: 2677 katartismos (kat-ar-tis-mos'); to equip, to prepare, to strengthen, to perfect, to make one what he ought to be, to be fitted out, to completely furnish, to perfect:- having reference to "special aptitude for given uses", (i.e. discover every members gift and train them to flow in it).

These three basics are not a Korean or a South African idea, but a commission from Jesus to the Universal Church.
Every local body must find a workable solution to pattern itself after the Bible model.  The Bible is always right.
É HOW CHO'S 3 PRINCIPLES PERFECTLY AGREE WITH EZEKIEL'S VALLEY OF DRY BONES Ê
The vision that is burning in my heart is that of Ezekiel's ARMY, the vision of "The valley of dry bones" - representing the restoration of the church today before the coming of Messiah.  The 3 things this vision shows must take place for the church to be restored are:-
1.  As he prophesied the bones came together, each to their right place - that is every member of the body discovering and fitting into the perfect place of their calling and gifting.  Besides being a deacon or an usher, I firmly believe every willing member should have a spiritual office of ministry relating to the spiritual building of the flock of God.
They discover their spiritual gifting at the end of Hole 2 - the Advanced Bible Study Seminar.
2. Then the bones must be covered with flesh - that is the Body being clothed with the fragrance of Christ, the Living Word.
John 6:51 (NAS) "I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, he shall live forever; and the bread also which I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh."  (i.e. ...the bread…is My flesh OR the Word...is My flesh OR My flesh is symbolized by the Word).
The church must be totally renewed and transformed by the Word of His power into living soldiers of the gospel.  If we are to reach the world they must first see the living Christ in us - by His Word living in our hearts.
3. Then the breath of the Holy Spirit needs to blow resurrection life into the body that they might stand on their feet an exceeding great army of gospel soldiers marching in rank, ready to destroy the works of the enemy.  This is happening as the refreshing of the Holy Spirit is being welcomed to blow on hungry and thirsty believers all over the earth today.

The
last four things that still needs to take place before the church can ever become an exceeding great army of gospel soldiers:-
i)   Unless the church is equipped with her spiritual armor she will never be ready to go to war - especially 'Having her feet shod with the PREPARATION of the Gospel of PEACE.'  What percentage of Christians today can effectively share their faith compared to Jehovah Witnesses & Mormons?  This is an indictment against the Shepherds of the Body of Christ.
ii)  She needs to be thoroughly trained how to use her equipment (i.e. On-the-job 'Hands on' Training is what is required - which is accomplished on the Fishers of Men program).
iii)  She needs to once again come under authority and discipline - or else she will remain a rebel ineffective army - with Pastors exercising lovingly discipline over the sheep - not lording over them - but proving to be examples (1 Pet 5:2-4).
iv)  Lastly, the church leaders need to provide an authority structure of leaders of 1000's, of 100's, of 50's and 10's, that functional members who prove their faithfulness can advance through the ranks of authority - the 'Add100' cell program perfectly provides this authority structure.

The Layman's School of Training was designed to include all the above principals.
